Flash and databasing

ActionScript has its own form of "AJAX", so I think it's capable of calling a PHP or other server-side script to put and retrieve information from databases. I forget the library name that does that, but I think it had "URL" in it.

URLRequest(), that's what it was. It's part of ActionScript 3.0. It can be used like AJAX to load content from a file on the server, I think.

Alright, I'll take a look at those while I'm looking at ActionScript places. By the way, if anyone has come across a good ActionScript tutorial or reference, please let me know. But I think I'll be ok with googling for the most part.

You can use the online version, it's just a lot easier to use inside Flash itself. I'm not a huge fan of the Adobe website.http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flash/There are links on that page to other versions of Flash if LiveSwif is trying to coincide with a particular version, but check the different references for Actionscript versions.
