While w3schools does have a set of tutorials, I don't really see this site as being instructional more than as a reference. It's easy to learn something like HTML or CSS no matter where or how you learn it, but for the other languages on the site w3schools is more of a reference for people who already know it than a place to teach people who don't know anything about it. If you're after assignments, pick up a text book. Most text books come with sets of assignments by chapter with the answers provided in the book (sometimes). The book by Elmasri and Navathe is a good one:http://www.amazon.com/Fundamentals-Databas...i/dp/0321369572It's a bit expensive, but there's a ton of information in that book.
