ShadowMage
Hi all, me again. I have a problem with styling my disabled text boxes and select boxes. It works in FF but not in IE. IE just ignores the CSS and styles it gray. This is my CSS code: [disabled] { color: #000000;} Can anyone help me get this working in IE?Thanks in advance, jkloth
jeffman
IE has always been slow to adopt new CSS selectors. I haven't tried this one, but I wouldn't be surprised if IE8 can't handle it. I'm 99% positive, even without trying it, that IE7 is a lost cause for this sort of thing, and that's still a huge user base.
ShadowMage
So I'm pretty much SOL on this one, eh? Thanks anyway, DD.Thing is though, IE will put italics on the font. It just doesn't change the color.
thescientist
could you replace them with images?
ShadowMage
Their data changes, so no that won't work, but thanks for the suggestion.
jeffman
If they are dynamic anyway, you could mimic disabled behavior. E.g.:el.onfocus = function(){this.blur();};Then just change the appearance with normal classNames.
