jeffman
I like the banner/logo. I think I would prefer it higher up the page, without the big margin at the top. I would definitely like it better without the 2-tone-gray CSS border. You went to a lot of trouble to make the image look nice. Wrapping it in a 1994-table-style border is a real let-down.The way the background image repeats is distracting. The sketches take a long time to down load. Users will not like that. The biggest step you can take is to use your image editor to shrink them to the size at which they'll be displayed, which requires about 25% the number of Bytes. That alone is a huge savings. You can get away with a bit more jpg compression too with not much loss of quality. If you really, really, really want users to have access to the full-sized images, you could link to them or use a lightbox of some kind.

We will ask the important questions about target audience, goals, creative direction and other variables, such as budget and deadlines. After the Researching phase is complete, Pepster's Place will have a solid background for the site that will eventually lead to designing and developing the website... Joseph C R
I'm very new here, and I just made my own website. called www.spaceuphoria.com It's just a fancy blog site, is all. I did this all through learning what I could about old html, to changing over to new html 5, and CSS from w3schools. I'm very new at developing my website, as in understanding Cascading style sheets, and html, with a bit of java scripts, like buttons and such. I, however did use tables, I eventually want to keep my same look and feel appeal, but I want my layout to be CSS, when I can fully master CSS. Someone suggested I come here, but I know I'm far from being a professional. I just love the ability, I do have with teaching myself and this website's help in that hand department. Anyway, if there are people here, who created this w3schools website. It's an awesome free educational site for scientists at that. I use this site and ask in forums what to do, how can I someday look like and be a professional, and I will need quite some time to get that far..... I just wanted to criticize the school.. I placed their add onto my website to show my support....

jodel_from_aol
Hullo. I'm new here and have a site which is in desperate need of a rebuild. This will undoubtedly entail a re-org and re-design as well. The site, in its current iteration can be found at: www.redhen-publications.com Warning. It's a static site built for computer screens, so it is probably not going to be navigable on a mobile device (I'm not including laptops. It can handle those) Also, although the site worked pretty much as intended it when it was uploaded in Feb 2022, it has developed major glitches with the dropdown menus and this is spreading to the navigation buttons -- which do not have dropdown menus -- as well. This will not enhance your browsing experience and is the primary reason for the need of a rebuild. A bit of history; the site is 20 years old, and fairly extensive (200+ pages). The current version is about the 4th or 5th iteration. It, and the previous build were done in Dreamweaver. I still have Dreamweaver, but can see that there is something written on the wall regarding the future of that program. Advice is welcome, but there may be limits to how much use I'll be able to make of it.
