ksclans
Is it possible to have some kind of code, that would hide / change the URL of the website, even though it can not link to anything ?

jeffman
If you could do that, a scoundrel could send users to www.scammer.com and have them believe they are at www.paypal.com . Not a good feature to implement.

Synook
You can install a local server if you like, and refer to it by that server's name. If it's just on your own computer, then you can actually fiddle with the hosts file to get any address you like to point to that localhost server - but not to an arbitrary file path.
