tinmat
Hi..I've just started reading about ASP and have come accross the scripting languages. As you know, ASP comes with VBScript and JScript (Microsoft's Javascript). I am familiar with Javascript , so stems my question:Do I have to bother with VBScript when I obviously can always use JScript? I mean are there any disadvantages for not using VBScript and choosing JScript instead?Any other advice/information you may supplement regarding the prefered scripting language?Thank you all. justsomeguy
Do I have to bother with VBScriptNope.are there any disadvantagesThere are way more online examples that are given in VBScript. Javascript is a superior language though. I've only ever really learned enough VBScript to be able to translate it to Javascript. VBScript isn't really that difficult to read, even though some of the function names and operators aren't really intuitive.

amj
I find the VBScript Function page on this site very usefulhttp://www.w3schools.com/vbscript/vbscript_ref_functions.aspThe page has them listed by type, also check out the examples.Try breaking a problem down into byte sized chunks.
