Anza Power
Just a suggestion, I've read the tutorial for basic info about XML, the best way IMO to picture XML is each element is like a box, where it's contents are the contents of the box, and if it has sub-elements it's like a box inside another box, the name and attributes of each box are like things that are written on the box's label...This is just a suggestion for people who find it harder to understand the XML tutorial to make it easier for them... boen_robot
Figuring out the "box in a box" thing isn't hard for newbies... the hard part is realizing that the boxes don't represent anything in particular, and that you need to work with them yourself. When people learn about HTML, they can see themselves doing something by typing the HTML text and opening it in a browser. With XML, they must write the XML text and something else that would do something with it, and then run that other something else. It's a very easy thing to say and express, and yet very hard to actually understand it without trying it.That said, yeah, I agree making it a little more colorful and lineful (is that a word? Should be...) might be helpful, but it must be done with care, so that people realize the visuals are just for readability.
Anza Power
^ Then say the element names are just scribbles you write yourself on the front of the box and if someone else comes he won't know which box to open unless you tell him what the name of each box means...
