skaterdav85
I have to make a few configurations to my IIS server. I have IIS manager open.1. First, the server won't serve my index.cfm file. If I type in index.cfm to the end of my url, it will serve it. How do i change this?2. SOLVED: At the bottom of every page, there is some text that is appended to every page. I can't find where to remove it. It says "This is fthe footer of the page".
justsomeguy
You're looking for default documents. Where that is may change depending on the version of IIS, but you're looking for a list of default documents to look for if a filename is not given. skaterdav85
Do i need to restart IIS Admin Service, HTTP SSL, or World Wide Web Publishing Service?
justsomeguy
I'm not sure. If it works after making the change, then no.
skaterdav85
ok thanks it worked. i didnt have to restart. i had to do it to the root folder, not the folder within the root, which is why it didn't work at first.
skaterdav85
New question for more IIS config stuffI am letting users upload files and create directories. Under the "Home Directory" tab in the Properties panel for my application on IIS, do I need to enable that Write checkbox? Right now only Read is checked. justsomeguy
You don't necessarily need to do that for the home directory, but any directory where you will be saving things, you'll want to make sure the IIS user has write permission for it.
