danknol
Hello experts. Does anyone know the correct code for condensing the width of styled text within a cell or table? I've exhausted my search on w3schools, with no results. Note, the "width" property works for images, not text. What are my options? Thanks in advance
jeffman
Assuming you do not want to change the font size, the options are not good. The CSS3 font-stretch property will do what you want, but it is not yet supported by any current browser that I know of. I am certain it is not supported yet by Firefox, so that alone probably kills the option.Using negative values for the CSS letter-spacing and word-spacing properties might get you somewhere, but as you can guess, the rules apply only to the spaces. Character widths are not changed, so the results usually look "squashed."
