But when I go to http://localhost/ the browser demands for username and password. It looks strange to me because I have no any password in my computer. When I cancel that dialog box then a page comes with saying "You are not authorized to view this page". What is the username and password? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
justsomeguy Posted March 28, 2011 Share Posted March 28, 2011 It sounds like either the server doesn't have permission to execute files in the web folder, or ASP might not be allowed. If you right-click on your web root and go to properties and the security tab, the user that needs access starts with "IUSR". That is the account which IIS uses to access files. That account needs read, write, and execute permissions for the entire directory structure. There may also be a setting in IIS on whether or not to allow anonymous access, and that should be allowed.
