real_illusions Posted April 16, 2006 Share Posted April 16, 2006 div tags are divisions of a webpage. like tables, except much easier to place on a page and you can define a number of things with them making designing your pages exactly how you want them to be. These are prefered over a table based layout, which doesn't give a precise design that you may want.span tags are used to define a short phrase within a sentance in a different style.both these tags are used in conjunction with CSS.http://www.webdesignhelper.co.uk/html_tuto...utorial50.shtml is a good one for span, and an intro to div tags.
