jfkballistics
Hey Guys and Gals, I would like to have a site search on my website, but have no idea where to begin. I have read several articles, and am growing more confused. Here is the HTML that came in the template. <div class="searchform"><form action="#"><p><input name="search_query" class="textbox" type="text" /> <input name="search" class="button" value="Search" type="submit" /></p></form></div> But I have no idea what to do with it from there. Any help is much appreciated.
Ingolme
Now you need to learn a language like PHP in its entirety so you can read through your site's files, index them and then retrieve their data when requested.

LOL. Maybe I would be better off without a site search......
Synook
You could also use a third-party service like Google Custom Search. The results won't be as customizable, or up-to-date, but you won't have to do much work at all.
jfkballistics
I think I will try that, as it looks like just what I want. Will I be able to place it where the search box is now?

jfkballistics
Thanks! I think I have it where I want it to be now, and it does not look to bad:http://www.kennedyassassinationresearch.com/ On this page of mine, I tried to move the +1 button left, and the search right, both above the "Welcome to JFK Ballistics.com" but with no success. They go left, with no alignment, and they center using this: <center>script here</center> But no luck evening them out across the top of the page. My code looks like this right now: <div id="main"> <div class="box"> <center><script src="http://www.gmodules.com/ig/ifr?url=http://www.google.com/cse/api/013307854363342800037/cse/bmccyi2rufw/gadget&synd=open&w=298&h=73&title=Kennedy+Assassination+Research&border=%23ffffff%7C0px%2C1px+solid+%23595959%7C0px%2C1px+solid+%23797979%7C0px%2C2px+solid+%23898989&output=js"></script></center><center> <g:plusone size="standard" annotation="none"></g:plusone></center><center><h1><a href="index.html">Welcome to JFK Ballistics.com!<span class="white"></span></a></h1></center> <font size="3"> <p> <font size="4">Welcome to JFK Ballistics. A site dedicated to dispelling the many ballistic and firearms related myths surrounding the assassination of John F. Kennedy. At JFK Ballistics we post articles and information from both the conspiracy perspective, as well as that of the non-conspiracy perspective. We do this in hopes that readers will form their own conclusions, based on information from all sides of the debate.</p> I can see that getting things to align will be my biggest headache!
