As I am a newbie, I could do with some hints, tips and or advice as to what to do to my HTML to get a (better) ranking. I ran the code validator in dreamweaver and it came up with tons of errors... astralaaron Posted January 24, 2012 Share Posted January 24, 2012 I think most everyone will generally tell you that your site ranking is improved by having a lot of good content people want to come read, and getting other sites with good ranking to want to link back to you. I think it will help to clear up those errors also. Ingolme Posted January 24, 2012 Share Posted January 24, 2012 The first validation error is that your <meta> tags have wrong values for the name attributes.The second problem is that you're trying to close <p> elements with /> while they are only allowed to close with a separate tag. You shouldn't have empty <p> elements, you should be using CSS to give separation between elements on the page. Other errors are with obsolete attributes like bgcolor and align. Use CSS instead.
