T1000Android
Hi guys!I am fairly new to web design and I was wondering what functional elements are obligatory for any website. I am reffering to elements like !DOCTYPE, <html>...</html>. Is a website accepted by a domain name company without these elements? Thanks! eTianbun
<!doctype><html><head><title></title></head><body></body></html> (1) All websites should have that structure.(2) A domain/webhost company, is not incharge of that, but w3c.
T1000Android
So a web hosting company doesn't care about the elements? Are there any other elements besides the obvious ones? Edited June 13, 2012 by T1000Android
birbal
yes. they dont bother how your site is coded as long as you dont break their any TOS. you need to use semantic code so that you can work with Javascript and for SEO purpose mainly.

birbal
it means Search engine optimisation http://wikipedia.com/SEO. semantic code will help the bots to fetch your site more efficently and effectively so that your site can be indexed well in search engines
Ingolme
Web hosts don't care what your code looks like. Search engines like Google do, though.
