css media query and ios5 email

I'm trying to email an html page using outlook 2010. The email contains css media queries for mobile devices. Can anyone tell me why this css media query is not working when viewing the email on an iPhone 4s? The email looks like it would on a desktop screen only much smaller. It displays properly when I view the email in safari on the iPhone. Here is my media query: @media only screen and (max-width : 480px),only screen and (max-device-width : 480px) ,only screen and (-webkit-max-device-pixel-ratio : 2),only screen and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio : 2){} Thanks
