jeffman
Most servers are configured so they only execute PHP if a file has a .php extension. You should be able to change this setting in a control panel somewhere. I do not recommend this. If your server has to read every .htm or .html file and look for PHP code every time, your server's performance will degrade.

davej
when i save it as php, server cannot read php language..any body can help me. Is this a commercial web host? If so you might need to visit their support forums. You might also want to create and test a simple page like this... http://www.w3schools.com/php/showphp.asp?filename=demo_syntax Edited July 23, 2013 by davej

justsomeguy
If your server doesn't support PHP then you need to ask your host if they can enable it, or move to a different hosting package, or move to a different host. You can't run PHP on a server that doesn't support it.
