Collapse menu

Hello, I hope I can explain this in a way that doesn't sound stupid... I could really use some help here. I have run into a bit of an issue when using the collapsible menu found at https://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_js_collapsible.asp

I am a novice at HTML / PHP / PSP / CSS ect... but the website I am using for my online store is a "site builder" and is build in .liquid which I have no knowledge of.

The problem I am running into is the script for the collapsible menu is interacting with the webpage navigation. The collapsible menu is exactly what I wanted and needed but found the page menu also adopts the same background and padding as the collapsible button in the script.

I don't know how to correct this or if there is anyway to correct it. This is also happening on nested menu's for the website. Here is what I get on desktop https://patriotapparelshop.com/products/patriot-apparel-shop-gift-card. The navigation menu at the top for the Gift Card link in the main menu has adopted the collapsible menu background color and padding.

Any help would be much appreciated.
