hi,well, the 2 errors i am now getting are actually javascript codes i took from 2 different sites- one is to generate a verse each day and the other is to search the bible- from their websites. well, i tweaked them to suit my site. they were in tables and stuff- but i got rid of them. (had much more errors with them too)look at the validation here-> site validationhope i dont change anything before u get a chance to look at it.well- my next project after this- learning css, is to teach myself php and sql. so after that adventure i'll be able to generate those myself--- hopefully- haha.

First, I want to say thanks for taking all the critism (harsh as it may have been) very well and in stride. Many folks will ask for it but then get bent out of shape when they get the truth. So, again, good job on handling the feedback.Secondly, I'll only comment on the design as a site and not so much the design as it is graphically. I do not tend to involve myself in colors, themes, etc. I will say, however, that the top header graphic takes up too much space. You can get more content above the fold (the part of teh web page that you need to scroll to see) if that graphic were shorter. The font used for East Bank Demerara is harder to read in the newer version - I had to refer to the old version to make sure I was spelling it correct. Your content layout seems to have enough space and you menu top and side also seem to use a porportionate amount of space. Personally, I do not prefer the pages that run right down to the end of the browser. I'd like to see you finish off the bottom of your site so the lightest yellow wraps a few lines below your main middle pain - Just like you find at the bottom on this forum. I think it looks neater - in fact it is one of the things I do not like about my site: http://www.iribbit.net/ but like about this site http://www.deepcreekcam.com/Thanks, and keep up the good work and good attitude.

Well, the first validation error is easy!In that generate a verse script replace the include with this:<script src="http://www.verseoftheday.com/verse.js" type="text/javascript"></script>Thats all done. The second one is that you have a form inside of a paragraph (<p>).Just take that away and it will fine, if you would like a line break (<br />) to compensate for other content coming up next to it.Also, I know php well enough (Im make a game now :)) and if you need help ask me. A good tutorial is on zend.com (They are the actual php engine) just look in the dropdown menus for php 5 then once there click on absolute begginers. :)

hey Skemcin,i thought about your suggestions and took them on. i used less space at the top header. i gave the bottom a more finishing look. and i made the writing in the header more readable.so- i've come a long way i see- simply by listening attentively!first design: http://test-page.ebdadventist.org/updated version: http://tester-page.ebdadventist.org/new version: http://tester-page3.ebdadventist.org/ps- nice design u have on ur site.let me know what u think- ur honest opinion. if it doesnt look good- tell me! :)

Good. The search box is now not that big :) . Great job. However, the text above it is still too big in IE7. Give it some explicit size that will look good in all browsers. PM me if you want, so I could tell you if it works with IE7 too.I see you haven't done my markup suggestions yet, but no matter. It's good anyway :) .

ok boen_robot,i tried the stuff... and here is what i came up with... i changed the inline links in the left navigation to listsi also changed the topmenu to lists... along with some other lil stuff...is the text above the serachbox still too big in IE7?i was trying to place stars infront of the topmenu list- but its not working out too well. i tried using list-style-image, etc. resorted to using a background, but.... as u can see.i dont know if the approach i took to creating the sub menus is the best way (but its functional): http://tester-page4.ebdadventist.org/adventurer.htmlso- here is my progress:first design: http://test-page.ebdadventist.org/updated version: http://tester-page.ebdadventist.org/new version: http://tester-page3.ebdadventist.org/present version: http://tester-page4.ebdadventist.org/the working links are the church ministry tab--> adventurer and its sub menusshout back at me ya'll... and tell me upfront your thoughts.

The menus have perfect markup. Great job :) .You weren't able to use list-style-image because you turned the list into an inline element and list-style-image applyes to... you've guessed it. List items :) .Personally (maybe it's just me) I don't like the images used on the #topmenu. Representation of the former green line would habe been better. The white edges on that image are probably the reason why this feels bad.You are still using <br /> as a spacer instead of margin, but it's a good progress that you've at least eliminated the empty <p></p> elements.Speaking of empty elements

<div id="contentbottom"></div>

is empty. Is there something that's supposed to be there? If not, then remove it. What is there for anyway? I'm sure they is some CSS way around the problem you had.As for the text in IE7. It's actually only the line "www.biblegateway.com" where the ".com" gets on the black border and the "m" even goes beyond. You can apply special styling on only that line or better yet, apply a smaller font-size in "<!--[if IE7]" stylesheet.

aaawwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!AAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ok- that was a scream. for whatever reason i have not been using IE for the past 2 years. (use to get a lot of virus and problems with it- and i'm not the only one using this pc). i have it disabled right now. somehow i just decided to force open the site in IE6. and i tell u- the site is very messed up in it!!!!!!!!the top tabs are stacked vertically on each other on the right side.then there is a wide gap in the middle.then the tabs without the names are piled up again on each other on the left side.i have no idea how and at what point that happened.i know that u guys have beeen real sweet in assisting me. and i am really greatful for that. but i BEGGING even more for your assistance.what? what? what?my guess is that it has something to do with the topmenu, leftnav and/ or leftsubnav... cause those are what i was fixing the last time- yesterday. i'm trying, but...ps- it displays good in firefox and opera.... terrible in IE 6... and perhaps other versions of IE i guess.http://tester-page4.ebdadventist.org/

I thought you had your first version tested in IE6.Well, check all of your versions and see at what point it gets bad. THEN we should search for what caused the problem.

On the updated version, the shadows of the stars don't flow very well into the yellow background. My suggestion would be to make the background black or stripes. Another suggestion is on the church ministry page. You should change "The East Bank Demerara District (GoldStar) boasts a vibrant Youth Ministry..." because we should boast in Jesus alone! :)

my my my my my.... i am soooo lost. i thought things were going soo well- until i saw those tabs stack on each other on either side. and yeah- i JUST saw it. firefox and opera shows it good- IE-- hmmmm...yeah- the first version was tested in in IE6-i checked back to see at what point. it got to be yesterday... in the latest update. i think what i modified then was the 'topmenu', the 'leftnav' and the 'leftsubnav'. what i basically did was to put then in list among some oher lil stuff.:blink::):):)

I wish I could assist with this, but all computers I'm ever on now use IE7RC1. This includes my home PC, work PC, and even School PCs. Every PC I've touched :) . I can only take a look when a new PC, needing a Windows installation arrives and I don't know when will that be.

Yes im only 14, I dont know how I find a way to do it. Probably because I never do my homework :). I usually never get anything but math, and my first two classes I do close to nothing in, so I just do it then lol.I found another one, I was looking through CSS and saw this:font-family:jokerman,kristen,chiller,dauphin,mistral,papyus;Is that supposed to be papyrus? Or is that a font.. Anyways its under the #header p:firstletter etc.. if you want to fix it. its the class that gives the first letter of a <p> that "joker" font :).

so reportingsjr, you are really 14 huh? lol. young and very knowledgeable i see. i see you have a very bright future ahead of u somewhere in the IT world already! but try your best to balance with the school work though- it might come back to haunt you somehow.thanks for pointing out the error- yes, its suppose to be papyrus. i'll go n' fix it.ps- i'm not sure how it feels having someone twice as young as i am teach me. lol. just kidding. :) keep up the good work. just try to balance with the school work. :) ok- here is a question i have. how do i get the entire site to display at 80% on any computer, rather than having a definite size? why- i find that when i increase the screen resolution to a high setting- the site looks real small. any suggestions? thx
