SFB
Cause i ve tried the things that i found on the internet but they didnt work....... HELP I think it is better for websites to not have background music. most of the people that want to hear music while surfing the web are alredy listening to their own music. but if you really want backgroud music i think there is like a backgroundsound tag. your other option would be to use something like embed tag. It would probably be better to use the embed tag and then have autostart set to false so the viewer can choose to play the music.
croatiankid
the embed tag was made up by netscape, and has never been in any w3c recommendation. you're probably best off with a flash player in a frame or iframe. http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/
holmedwa04
This is the code that I used when I was playing around with background music, but like SFB said, it really is best not to have background music, because people probably listen to music if they want to and seriously if I come accross a page and the music clashs with mine I get rid of it strainght away, it is really just a way to deter people, but that is your choice, who I am telling you what your website should have on it, it is a free world... so here is the code: <bgsound src="my music.mid" loop="infinate"> There you go, as simple as that, I am not sure wether it is only for midis or not, but give it a go and play around with the loop bit, I can't remember the other properties. As I say I was just messing around with it when I was learning how to build websites in HTML.Enjoy!!!
