Att the start of my working life, I qualified as a Municipal Engineer and hold the Testamur of the institution of Municipal Engineers. I also have an HND in Building Construction and I am a Chartered Engineer. I also completed the Mathematics Foundation course of the Open University and passed with a distinction.

Early on in my career, I became interested in the use of computers in engineering design to the extent that I eventually joined IBM in 1965 where I worked for almost 40 years. I then went contracting before finally retiring in 2009.

Since my retirement I have always kept myself occupied by dabbling with computer programming in one form or another. I have written a number of applications in Visual Basic and MS Access. I am now spending my time getting into building web sites using Visual Studio Core and have recently discovered W3.CSS, which I think is superb.
