afish674
I've just been reading this article on getting full screen background images that scale: http://css-tricks.com/perfect-full-page-background-image/ The problem is that in order to get a good quality picture to fit big screens, even compressed is about 320kb which is pretty big. I have seen sites using background images this big, but is it acceptable? I don't understand how a lot of sites have lovely backgrounds that look impressive even on my 27" monitor without a huge file size. Can anybody tell me what the perceived wisdom is here? Thanks!
