  3. I've given the radio buttons an ID, here is the code:Yes <input type="radio" id="CurrentPlan" name="CurrentPlan" value="Yes"> No <input type="radio" id="CurrentPlan" name="CurrentPlan" value="No"> I'm not familiar with the getElementById, how do I write it out so that it checks if it was selected?
  4. Hi, I have a form that has input boxes for users to type their information, and dropdown menus for users to select an option. I am trying to also use a radio button, where the question is a Yes or No answer, and the user clicks on either yes or no. I want to use javascript to be able to ensure that a button has been checked, but I don't know what to use. For example, the "First Name" input box has this JS to check whether or not information has been entered: if(document.quotesform1.FirstName.value.length ==0){ message = message+"Please enter a First Name.\n"; } The dropd
  5. Hi, I am trying to create a form that just asks for the users email. After they enter their email and press submit, I would like for an email on my side to automatically be sent to that email address that was entered. An example I found online is here: http://javascript.internet.com/forms/submit-once.html, if you scroll down towards the bottom of the page and see the short form that says "We'll send this script to you!" This is exactly what I am trying to accomplish. Are there any sources online that can point me in the right direction? Or can someone lend me some help?I'm not even sure if th
  6. My page is here: http://fliers.greenbranders.com/images/matt/In the header, I want "Mike Smith Homepage" to have like 20 pixels of top padding and 300 pixels of left padding. In my CSS, when I add padding-top:20px and padding-left:300px to my "header" class, the blue box extends 20px on the top and 300px to the right. I just want to position the text inside. Can someone please help me out?
  7. Yes, at the top of the form I have this code:<script language="JavaScript" src="/surechoice/resell_check.js" type="text/javascript"></script><form action="#thankyou" method="post" name="referaclient" onSubmit="return checkrefervalues();"><input type="hidden" name="sendemail" value="rac"> The problem is, I'm not really familiar with JS... I've enrolled in a course on web scripting this semester but so far I've only had one class. I don't know how to do any of what you described. I was hoping this issue I'm having would be a quick fix... not so sure of that now.
  8. Right, the form submits when it shouldn't. When I hit submit with blank information, it takes me to the thank you page but lists this error above the form: "Error - Please check the phone number and try again."I should add that this ASP logic is included in the HTML:<% 'declare vars for sending email Dim bReturn, dtSendDate Dim sMailSubject, sMailBody, sMailFromAddress, sMailFromName, sMailToAddress, sMailToName dim sendemail, emailbodytext, refererror sendemail = "" sendemail = Request.Form("sendemail") refererror = "" Function IllegalChars(sInput) Dim sBadChars, iCounter
  9. Well, I am testing it by hitting the submit button without entering any information in the form fields. On the working form, a JavaScript window will pop up and say "hey, you need to enter this, this and this". But with the new JS, I hit submit with no information and it takes me to the thank-you page I have set up when a user submits their information. I'm not sure what you mean in your second question... do you mean taking the code where it is and moving it around the existing code? I have tried moving it to the top and bottom of the JS, and get the same error result.
  10. I want to add Google Tracking code to my JavaScript, and when I add the code it breaks. Here's what the original JS looks like: function checkrefervalues(){ message=""; if (document.referaclient.companyname.value.length ==0){ message = message+"Please enter your Company Name.\n"; } if(document.referaclient.name.value.length ==0){ message = message+"Please enter your Name.\n"; } if (document.referaclient.email.value.length ==0){ message = message+"Please enter your Email Address.\n"; } else

  12. I have a nav menu that uses dropdowns... here's an image of how the drop-down works:But there are pages of my website that have an embedded video on them, and the video is directly underneath a dropdown menu. The problem is, the dropdown menu goes behind the video, like this:To me, this screams out z-index, but I've tried applying a negative z-index to the video and a positive z-index to the <ul> in the nav menu, and it didn't solve my problem. Here is the code for the nav menu: <div id="navmenu" class="navmenu960"><ul id="menunav"><li><a href="/product/payroll/" ti
  13. Hi, I am trying to create a stage header using tables and CSS. My problem is that in IE6 and IE7, there is a small amount of white space above the bottom shadow, which you can't see in IE8 or FireFox. Here is what my code looks like: <div style="z-index:5;position:absolute;padding-left:20px;padding-top:20px;"> <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"> <tr> <td><img src="/images/960/global/stage-front-lt.gif" /></td> <td><div style="background-color:#000; width:550px; height: 145px; border-bottom: solid 1px #ccc; border-top: solid 1px #c
  14. Hi, I am referencing code I found on this page here: http://www.position-relative.com/tutorials...ss_bg_image.phpI have created a link on my background image. Click here for the page I am referring to.The linked part is where you see "Click here to see product screenshots", which I have made linkable through CSS. However, in IE7, the "text" is not clickable. It works in IE6, on Macs, and in every other browser. By looking at the code, does anyone see something I am missing? Or a better way to accomplish this? Thanks for any help anyone can provide me.

  17. Hi, here is what my problem looks like:As you can see, when I input a lot of text, the input box gets pushed over to the left, and the text is displayed on the background color. This only happens in IE6 and IE7, as far as I can tell...Here is the form code: <script language="JavaScript" src="/quote/960/payroll_check.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <form class="fpq" action="/quote/instant_price_quote.asp" method="POST" id="quotesform1" name="quotesform1" onSubmit="return checkquotevalues();"> <input name="ReferralCode" type="hidden"> <table cellpadding="0" c
  18. Hi I am trying to get my form to recognize when no input has been entered. Currently on the form, I have an autoclear function, which gives each input a value. On two of the inputs, the Phone and Email, I am receiving an error message for an incorrect value and for nothing being entered. Here's a screenshot of the error:Here is the HTML for the form: <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"> <tr> <td colspan="2"> <div id="inputWrap"><input class="tb-condensed bold color727272 fontsize10" type="text" size="30" maxlength="50" id="employees" name="employees

  20. Hi, my page here: https://www.surpayroll.com/surechoice/accountant_access.asp?. For the Log In part at the top, I have a script in there that makes the input value disappear upon being clicked on. I want to make it so that the value will reappear if you do not enter any text. I've seen this done on sites before but couldnt find one as an example. But how the page is currently, once you click in the input box, the value will disappear completely. Is there a script that will return the value if the user does not enter any text?
  21. I have styled my navigation menu with rollover links that give a dropdown menu on my page here. If you look in any browser besides IE6, such as IE7, IE8, FireFox, Chrome, etc., the rollovers look how they should: the green button on the "off" state is replaced entirely by a white color, and the text color changes from white to green. However, if you look in IE6, when you rollover the top button, only part of the text is given the rollover state. And if you rollover the middle buttons, they are completely white and you cannot see the 1px gray border on the left and right. Is this a problem I can
  22. Hi, I am wondering why the input button for my dropdown list looks very different between Firefox and Internet Explorer. My page is here: www.surepayroll.com/spsite/resources/articles/, and if you look in Firefox, the input button doesn't have a border and is shaded a light tan color. In Internet Explorer the button looks like your typical input button. Where is the styling for this, and how can I get the button in FF to look like the one in IE?
