  1. I have just finished the army here in my country, Greece. We are being drafted for military service when you are above the 18th year of age. I am now trying to figure out what to do as a profession and what I really liked and was good in my Comp Eng degree was hardware and specifically I was interested in networks from the hardware side. What I mean is that I was good in setting up a network using various routers, switched etc. Now that I am free to study again I wanted to ask you whether there is an engineer/hardware type of work in networks that doesnt rely to much on software. In other words I want to setup the physical side and let someone else worry about OS, software etc. In case there is what do I have to study further to achieve this position e.g. protocols, maybe programming languages? Since the army took a part of my life would it be safe to start reading on my own or maybe join a program like Cisco training in order to catch up? Please any advice would be helpful.

  2. He he I did but I wrote Win instead of Web. Sorry. Now that you mentioned it would it be possible to build winforms style applications? I dont see it lacking a lot of functionality.

  3. I am with user interface design and until now I am using C# and Winforms for my various UI? I wanted to ask your opinion whether switching to Flex 2 would be better for the UI design/dev part or not.

  4. I have two questions which are more in the category of asking your opinion:1) What are the necessary technologies that someone should be familiar with for web interface design?2) We are thinking of starting a new course in my university that deal with RIA. We are going to use Flex but apart from this I also want to brief them in the underlying tech of RIA's. I was thinking of individual lessons on XML, CSS and actionscript which are the underlying tech of Flex.3) Final question: Will the tech of Flex suffice for marketability and future job prospects since our students are going to ask this.Any opinion and usefull suggestions are most welcomed.
