Twango
Who here wants PERL?!?!?
jeffman
We had this discussion 2 years ago, when I first joined. The simple truth is that very few people come to this forum and ask for Perl. If more people did that, and if Perl was becoming more popular in the CGI world, then adding Perl might make sense. But this is not reality. Visitors make a lot of suggestions about the tutorials and the board, but they almost never mention Perl. My impression is that Perl is actually becoming less popular as a CGI language, not more. And from what I've seen of the Perl 6 proposals, the changes will not make Perl better suited to CGI. The developers are going in other directions. The good news is that there are plenty of excellent resources on the web for Perl.If the administrators of the W3Schools and this board were to make some major additions, my guess is that they would add sections on Ruby or Python. Synook
We already have a Perl forum - http://w3schools.invisionzone.com/index.php?showforum=55.In fact, we have all the popular CGI languages - http://w3schools.invisionzone.com/index.php?showforum=54.However, I doubt the W3Schools authors have enough time to write up even more tutorials.
