Ok, I am getting alot of interesting advice ... thank you everyone! Now it's time for me to roll up my sleeves and get to work ...

I write my HTML code (version 4.01) in Wordpad. I plan use CSS and transparent GIF-images to be able to change the apperance of a large number web pages.What I wonder is if there are potential problems using a large number of GIF images on a web site? My trust in Windows and IE is unfortunately low. For example, could my website become slower and slower when the user looks through the the large number of HTML-pages on my site?If any one has any feedback I am grateful.

I am writing HTML 4.01 code for my web site and have encountered the following problem:Opera and Firefox displays this code:<table><tr><td><p>text that appears in this table</p></td></tr></table>as if I had a line break before and after the the text, something I do not want. IE displays the code the way I want it, that is the table is wraped around the text with no empty line before and after the text.I would be very grateful I someone could give me a tip on how to make Opera and Firefox do what I want it to? I use CSS files together with the html pages.
