Apologies I worked it out.

Hello wise and knowledgable people,I am a web designer who has only used HTML & CSS up until now. I am wanting to teach myself PHP and mySQL and have looked through the guides on the site. I just purchased some webspace with a mySQL database. I've created the database but in the website's admin and it said that the only way I could ever create / update etc. on the database was through the site itself and I couldn't do it through my home computer. How would I go about setting up tables? Would I have to create it through a one time use webpage with the right PHP code on it or could I use a program of sorts to manage my database?Sorry if there is any ambiguaty there. Thank you in advance for any light you can shine on this.
