IF I cant run a server, can i have something that keeps track of ip's. If Mr. Bob makes a server, I want it to register its ip on my site, but do the real work itself. Lets say someone wants to join a server. The game would contact my site and ask for the ip's of available servers, then he would see Mr. Bob's server and join. Is this possible?PS Mr Bob is a funny name

Something else. The game is written in java, but is there a way to make it so it can recieve commands from a computer when the game pings my websites ip or something? This may be a dumb question, but I have to ask.

I have a friend who is making a multiplayer game. I want to know if there is a way to use my website to keep track of players. I was thinking it may be done in php, but i wasnt sure, and i dont want to spend days reading about php when im not sure its the answere.

I found out i can right click a directory and change the permisions. I can set it to public of i want, but i shoukd probably only set one directory to publicEDIT: changing the permisions of the directory I created ( /httpdocs/upload) doesnt do anyhting different.

How do I make sure I have write permissions. I am not experienced with this stuff. I am only 15, and my mom set up the web site I jsut designed it.

I am learning php, and i know flash, javascript,html,C++, SOME python. Anyway, I was following the tutoirals on this site and I got to teh upload file tutoiral. When I uploaded the php files and tested them, it seems to work fine but I used fireftp to look at my site and i dont see any files.
