  1. Hi everyone. Its been loooong since i have been around and i thought i would be wise to reintroduce myself. as i can see nothing much changed with some of my friends having the same profile picture i left them with. i hope the same for goes for web codes since i only remember the basics. anyways pleasure to be in this community again and will be looking forward to our constructive interactions. 2. Thanks alot for the critique. I am correcting the site right now and i'll update in a few. The bg color you are talking about is the links'(home. About us etc) right? I have been having an akward feeling about the home page lol now i know why any suggestions on the home page arrangment. Regarding the links if i make the left and the right margin equal will it do the trick? Thanks

  3. i wanted to ask the same too thanks abragj for asking first if i may ask justsomeguy, i was thinking about searching the whole be it articles database using the mysql LIKE comparison then returning the results, is there any other better way? i have heard about the FULLTEXT search but i have not yet read about it thoroughly to understand what it was talking about. thanks

  4. Toshiba recently decided to do away with normal hd and stick with ssd in their top teir comps but the problem is its only 128 gb though they say the difference between the two hardisks is like a b/w tv and a colored one. I'd advice you to take intel processor other than amd one.

  5. Thanks darkx it worked though i had to use an if else statement to check the url then click the link with the corresponding id. Initialy i had it click the first link when the page loads. Now i have a very small issue with my method. Lets say the url is info.html#panel2, the page jumps to that id immidiately. Is there a way i can have it open the page normaly and that panel without necessarily jumping to that id?

  6. I have an issue with jquery. I have created a panel with 4 tabs each having its own id (e.g id="tab1" to id="tab4"). When i click lets say tab4 i goes to tab 4 without any issues. the panel is in the info page and this is how the link looks like when i move the mouse over it (info.html#tab4). Now my problem is when i try to load the link from another page lets say from the home page, instead of going to the 4th tab it loads the first how can i solve this or rather what can i do to make the browser catch the id and load the 4th tab instead of the first please help me out.

  7. Hello friends. html5 and css3 are the in thing in web design now, i think. So why don't we share the cool things we have discovered about the two and learn a thing or two on what we didn't know.

  8. i find three tier a little bit easy to code for it has less code separation. but ir is true that for great cms systems its better to use mvc. it would me much easier for other developers to understand what is really going on. that's is imo.

  9. every time i see a great websites like CNN i see some Photoshop and other software aspects in them my question is this, do i really have to use not necessarily Photoshop but other devices to make my website look great? The reason i am asking this question is because i have studied most of my webdesign through avenues like w3school and i have not learned much of other additional stuff for improving my images for example. that's why i am asking for your take on the matter to see whether i really need to study these "additional stuff". thanks

  10. thanks for the tip justsomeguy. i'll try out your way and tell you how i fared. i took almost 3 to 5 days in my previous project just trying to come up with a template that looked appealing. When you started creating websites (if you remember lol) did you have a feeling that it wasn't good enough coz i think thats what contributes to me wasting alot of time.
