Select width in IE problem

I test and when you use width css to describe a width of select componentin IE:when you open de select the itens have the same width of de select beginif you have a iten(option) more bigger than width`s select, the IE cut text of optionin FireFox behavio different, when you open the select dont import the width selectif the iten of select be more bigger than width`s select FireFox dont cut the itens, he resizes only itens to dont cut the itens,My problem is, i have a usability patters in site and i need a select with 200pxbut the content of select has a size more bigger than a select width.Anybody know any solution?sorry my english!!aehahehaeh
