My question is this: why is it so long!? What are all those numbers and letters?

Well, it seems it contains various information Yahoo! would like to keep about your visit. Each "SIG" probably corresponds to a unique identifier, which they'll later use in their statistics to filter out people like yourself... or something like that. The bottom line is that this URL is long so that Yahoo! can keep detailed statistics.

Sorry, method="post" change to method="get" :) Here is yahoo! 360 quick comment for short

<form name="guestbook" action="/guestbook-Cue5h8wndbeHTGtRT3u.L.g-?cq=1&.done=%2Fprofile-Cue5h8wndbeHTGtRT3u.L.g-%3Fcq%3D1%23ymgl-guestbook" method="GET"><span class="shadow"></span><div class="thm-box"><span class="ct"><span class="cl"></span></span> <div class="head"> </div> <div class="body"> <div class="form-wrapper"> <label></label> <select name="verb[]" size="1"><option value="">Testing</option></select> <textarea name="comment" rows="3" cols="18" id="comment_ff"></textarea> <input type="submit" value="Post" name="post" class="inactive"/> </div> </div> <span class="cb"><span class="cl"></span></span>	</div>	<input type=hidden name=".crumb" value="Msk9/F4202m"><input type=hidden name="form_submitted" value="guestbook"></form>

after change to method="get", open that page, then (enter some text) submit and it says error loading with the addressfile://localhost/guestbook-Cue5h8wndbeHTGtRT3u.L.g-?verb%5B%5D=&comment=test&post=Post&.crumb=Msk9%2FF4202m&form_submitted=guestbookI think all text above are decoded form and maybe they have it from your browser via javascript
