skaterdav85
Are there any sites where u can pay to have a database hooked up to your website, and they are relatively easy to use?
jeffman
You want to connect an existing site to a new, offsite database? (That's the way it sounds.) Or do you just want a new webhost with database ability?Almost all webhosts today offer a *basic* plan with mySql built in. Especially if you're paying for it. So just get advice on good hosting plans. We've had several threads on that this summer. Try searching for it. You could Google it, too. There are sites that review hosting plans. How easy it is to use depends on the skills you come with. The easiest thing is to learn PHP and SQL together, and there are books that teach exactly this combination of things. Or you can pick up most of what you need to know right here at the schools. If you have some programming knowledge already, especially in C, C++, or Javascript, you'll have a good head start, because they are all like PHP. If you already know VisualBasic(script), you might get up faster if you look at a plan that offers ASP. Lots of hosts have both to choose from. Synook
There are many free plans that come with database options. Have you looked in the Host and DNS Discussion thread?Almost all databases can be fully manipulated with SQL, so I suppose how easy you find it depends on how well you know SQL.
