shadowayex
I'm trying to run a LAMP server using Debian 4.04 on a really old server given to me by my girlfriend's dad. I have the server running itself. Apache works and everything, but the database does not. I installed MySQL, but I can't connect to it for some reason. When I open the terminal and type sudo mysql just to see if it'll go, I get this error:ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)I googled about this error but found nothing helpful whatsoever. I tried all the solutions that I found, but nothing changed. What are possible causes of this problem and how can I fix it?
