Borders In Table Cells With No Text

I'm also noticing that if I don't put any context/text in a cell, there's no difference between that and a cell with text. The tutorial says that there's no border around the cell, but in the examples and my test page, there are borders. If I use the   character, I don't see a difference either.

I'm using Safari, but the same thing happens in Firefox.

Some browsers don't show them by default, and some do.You can use css to force the browser to either hide or show them with table {empty-cells: hide} or table {empty-cells: show}
