skaterdav85
Why is a Java/JSP site said to have better security than PHP? I keep hearing that PHP has really weak security.
boen_robot
It's not about either language being more secure by design or having more security features built in.It's about the kind of programmers that program in each. PHP is much easier to learn and use than JSP, but that inherently means more programming newbies use it. Therefore, sites created with PHP are often less secure than JSP sites - they're coded by different people, and the JSP coder will usually be a more experienced programmer.PHP can be just as secure, if not more secure, than JSP, if you have the right programmer for the job. Unfortunatly, due to the low barrier of entry, finding a good programmer is hard these days.
skaterdav85
I can definitely see how learning JSP is much harder. I've been doing a lot of Java recently so I was curious in learning JSP, but I can't get the environment set up! Its so confusing that I just gave up.
