clonetrooper9494
I have a wamp server up and running, and I enables the ssl_module and am confused on what it does exactly. I tried to access local host through https:// but it didn't work... any one mind telling me what it does?
boen_robot
Running over HTTPS requires more than just enabling the SSL module (it's mod_ssl btw), but it is indeed what it does - it provides the encryption required by SSL.First and foremost, you need to enable port 443, which is the deafault HTTPS port. Second, you need to add some settings (with which I'm not familiar to be honest), which are detailed on the documentation of mod_ssl, and to make things at least a little easier, are described in combination at Apache's how-to pages. Synook
You also need to buy an SSL certificate.
wirehopper
You can create your own SSL certificates, although they won't be 'trusted' - but they will protect your site.http://dertompson.com/2007/02/10/creating-...l-certificates/
