atthomas
When browsing the internet for research on HTML5 and CSS3 I struggled to find any clear CSS3 gradient tutorials, and I was disappointed not to be able to find anything on W3Schools. I hope that an article could be added soon outlining how to do it in all the major browsers as there are differences.

There won't be (or shouldn't be) any differences when it becomes a standard. Gradients are still a new property. There's a great gradient generator here: http://gradients.glrzad.com/for you to use in the meantime. It shows the syntax for all major browsers. Sadly, though it doesn't support radial gradients.
