bluebomber
I've seen this issue raised a few places online now but have not found a solution, the latest (or any) version of Internet Explorer 9 seems to render Arial fonts slightly differently from other browsers (including ie8, 7 and 6) - in IE9 it seems to take up more width, this makes using horizontal lists rather frustrating because they take up more space space in IE9 than in other browsers which causes alignment and layout inconsistencies.Does anyone know of a solution or why this happens? thescientist
have you tried declaring the size of the font, using relative or absolute values?
bluebomber
hmm I'm not 100% sure what you mean, but I just tried declaring font-sizes in "em" as opposed to "px" and the problem is now massively reduced, the misalignment is still there in IE9 but now only but a matter of pixels.Usually I declare font sizes in "px" but sometimes use "em" to declare relative spacings around fonts for box sizes and margins and such.
