jimfog
I am little confused as to what MySQL version to download and install in my machine. In the PHPMyAdmin homepage I see this entry: Software version: 5.1.63-community - MySQL Community Server (GPL) As I understand this must be old and the latest being MySQL Community Server 5.5. Should I download the above you think? Are there big differences?
birbal
It does not hurt to be stay updated. You wont see much of differences in language itself but in internal implementations mostly. 5.1 to 5.5 (check the last revision number) is minor updates. to see the differences you can always check the change log from official site. justsomeguy
There may also be performance increases. PHP 5.4 is about 20% faster across the board than 5.3, for example.
jimfog
I will proceed and update the MySQL server, I hope it is easy to make the install. cause many times, during such procedures...something goes wrong.
