Have page scrollable when zoomed

Hey everyone,

 

So when you check out http://stackoverflow.com (hey even the forums does it too) you will notice that as you zoom the page the content does not try and flow down, but rather enables scrollbars allowing you to scroll left and right. How do you do that?

Just by giving the elements a fixed width that will happen.

 

width: 980px

 

min-width also works.

But I did set that and it did not work...

That's strange.

 

Anyways, setting the width in ems rather than pixels would certainly ensure that the page is always the same size relative to the text.
