Is there way to for-loop INSERT INTO ?

How can I insert for all users whose ID is in range from a to b? I do this?I want to do something like:INSERT INTO usergroups VALUES( 2 to 50,6,1);

Before inserting the row does not exist. how do you plan to know its id range prior to insertion? what you want to do actually?

For now I have fixed range, but it would be also useful to know how to use select there.

 

For now I just generated insert statements within for loop, but still would like to know for future reference.
