areeb
Hello allI have a Guestbook on my site at >>>www.areebonline.com/guestbookI am using Viper Guestbook for this.Since one month I am getting Spam hits on my guestbook. Everyday it enters 2-3 Spam entries in my Guestbook.Although there is an option to limit Spam in the Guestbook (By limiting the time required between two entries) but that actually works with a constant IP Address. The type of spam which I receive is such that one entry is from one IP Address and next one is from another one. This makes the Guestbook think that the second entry is by another person. Does any one have any solution to this Problem
Jack McKalling
I've had a simular problem at one o' my boards I am manager of :)There was a guest department inwhich every day got spam posted (message with hundreds of links to pornostuff)My boss and I just had to close the department entirely but one topic, for the guest acount. We left one topic inwhich the guest acount was allowed to reply only, and that solved our problem. But with your guestbook I don't know what to do either Spam is just bad
aspnetguy
Can you modify the code???You could integrate a random security pin that has to be entered with each entry.

aspnetguy
As for the forum, no we could not I think, guestbooks however, can be <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There are a lot of forums that integrate a security pin...some only when a user registers and some for every postThe security pin is most common in blogs and guestbooks tho
