shaselai
I have a 2 part question in dealing with placeholder. 1. I have it in place for a web app and it is working correctly. However, one of my feature is to load up the data and only make CERTAIN fields editable. Those that are not editable and without parameters in it I want them to be blank and not have placeholder text in them. Do i need to create a function where I check the boolean and set the value of placeholder to ''? Would that mess up the loaded data? And is there a simpler way to disable all placeholder for that page then reload them later? 2. I have searched around for a lot about placeholder and compatibility with IE8 and unfortunately I can't find anything useful... anyone have any links that you can share? thanks! davej
Are you talking about input text boxes and the readonly attribute -- or are you talking about the new HTML5 editable feature? http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_input.asp http://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_global_contenteditable.asp
shaselai
I am talking about placeholder="some text" as a part of textbox and once user click or fill it the placeholder text disappears .
