Media queries size per size group

I would like to properly but aesly use CSS media queries. Therefore I would like to do some groups within each of which are recognized 1) All smartphones 2) The tablets from 6/7 inch 3) The large tablets 4) All of the Desk Top screens. What size groups should I use? Thank you
