  1. ok so basically, I should learn html and then read how to 'convert' it to xhtml?
  2. I started to learn JavaScript so I could use greasemonkey (firefox extension) but after going through the tutorial and learning quite alot, I decided that my html knowledge wasn't up to scratch.I thought then, are xhtml, xml and html the same type of thing, because I would rather learn xhtml than html just because I have heard people say its newer and slightly more "shiney".Anyone able to answer these queries?EDIT: Does PHP do the same too?
  3. Unlimited packageExpert packagethose would be the two main packages in my opinion, A really cheap one, but still with brilliant services including FTP, and the big one with eeverything you could ever need, for a really low price.Thought I would let you guys know as it is a very good deal!Click on the thumbnails to see a slideshow (kinda) of services and price of whichever you click on.

  6. Why is there not a simple "edit nodes/id tags" and then i could do it right, instead of me sitting up a 4.00 in the morning with about 23 programs running trying to get the words "Welcome back blah" on a webpage....
  7. I used PSPad to import the html from the website and I changed it and it worked quite well when I tested it within PSPad's tester, but how do I upload/export/save the code back onto the webpage now? Just clicking save doesn't work because that tries to save it as a PSPad project
  8. that's what I was trying to say, opened it up, changed the code, clicked save, no difference... It just reverts back to default :-(
  9. I was thinking about giving in and just using an alert box or something but then a thought struck me, I would never be able to get element tags which would ruin my chances of using greasemonkey which, btw is the only reason I started learning javascript...see all very complicated isn't it? :)oh, fyi, the chat worked fine on IE for me , must just not like you
  10. AhHa! bang! thats a problem right there... even though I save the notepad file, everytime I click veiw source it has reverted to a non- id'ed version

  17. Whyyyyyy??????still nothing happens when I reload the homepage after entering my name in the box...The cookie is working alright because in the DOM inspectore I changed from nodes to JS objects and saw the cookie and it had the right info.why is it not displaying?try it urself?
  18. That look right to you?and also, what is to prevent non-website owners from changing your id name and messing up website code?
  19. groaaan....In I.E I get an error now, In FF I enter my name, refresh the page and... nothing, still an empty paragraph, after the DOM inspecter, if I add an attribute, it doesn't appear in the bottom left pane, but the id name does appear. but anyway, I am still getting the I.E error and the FF blank paragraph. Is there anyway for me to like, give control to you or something and you can try?(haven't got a clue what i'm talking about when i say control, lol)
  20. Do you mean in the DOM inspecter? and if so do you mean to add new 'blah' and put in id= and then in value put in 'fw-paragraph'?P.S I hate being a newbie in these things...P.P.S don't worry, we'll get your postcount up past 300 in this topic yet
