benjancewicz
Is there a way in CSS to prevent text from being resized by the "Text Size" tool in IE?
justsomeguy
You generally cannot use anything (CSS, Javascript, etc) to override anything in the client program. A user's settings and preferences should never be overruled by the website, the user should be able to user whatever settings they have on their browser without a website changing them.So no, you can't prevent external tools like that from doing anything to your page. Once the server sends your page to the client, the user has complete control over it.
benjancewicz
I just figured it out. Setting the font to a particular pixel size overrides it.
justsomeguy
Still though, if someone uses their own stylesheet or another tool or plugin that will change the font sizes there's not a lot you can do about that. I mean if someone wants to override your CSS with their own, you can't really stop that.
Guest FirefoxRocks
But why would you want to override the browser's options for text size? It would make your page less accessible.
Jerry62704
No problem with using a fixed font as long as your target audience doesn't include anyone with vision problems. This would include people that have to use the text size to make it readable as well as JAWS or DRAGON users. If anyone has less than 20-20, they should just ignore your page?
