Adding case staments in a SQL query

Hi all,a perfect place to get perfect solutions.i am going to create a view(pipeline_extract_new) from an existing view.(pipeline_extract)The new view will contain some columns from existing.my queries are:1. how add new columns to the new view which are not there in existing view. (new columns are "activity this week" which has the following logic Deal is "This Week" if it entered the Funded stage after the previous Monday; Deal is "New This Week' if it entered the Funded stage after the previous Monday and New_vs_Existing = 'New'.) I have the fundstage date in existing view.2.How to add case statements in the view for a derived column. OPPORTUNITY_AMOUNT which will be as (Commitment_Amount) where current_sales_stage = 'Opportunity'please let me know your resolutions on this.
