denny911
I hope to get answer to my problem and that it actually might help to anyone having the same one.i want to enable sending mail directly from my site. i tried bunch of scripts but nothing worked. there's actually no error message, but i dont receive anything in my inbox..i contacted my hosting provider and they told me i have ti use SMTP with authentification.Again, i tried several scripts, but all of them required PEAR installed, or class.phpmailer.php and thus, i ended up with error messages when i was trying to run those test scripts.can anyone provide me with the script as simple as possible that will send mail through the SMTP and in which i'll be able to enter my mail.server and username & password (like my host said)? justsomeguy
There's not a single function that does smtp authentication. You will probably need to open a socket to the mail server and do the communication yourself. If you're not sure how to do that, the phpmailer class might be a better fit for you.
