rmd test "directory not empty"

Try to delete a test folder, in which I placed a .htaccess file. Now, I wanted to delete it (strangely cannot see the .htaccess file in it?) and it complains 'rmd test "directory not empty" '. What does this mean? Kurt

You can't delete a folder that contains files. Some FTP clients have an option whether or not to show .htaccess files. Otherwise if you're trying to delete it with PHP then you can write a script that will delete all files and subfolders before it deletes the parent folder.

The funny thing is: when I uploaded the same file again from my local machine it showed and I could delete the whole folder including files. There must be something else going wrong... Also, I read again and again that you should upload the .htaccess as htaccess only and add the dot when its on the live server. What is this about (I tried both)?Cheers,Kurt
