Since both HTML and XHTML are getting a revamp or something to that extent, which would you rather learn? HTML 5 for me.

It looks like HTML 5 is dominant at the moment. But I'll end up learning both of them for cnvenience, when the time comes. At the moment I'm waiting for a full specification for either of them and for full browser support.

I'll probably end up learning both, but as far as usage goes, I'd much rather use XHTML 2.0... when it gets supported that is. I wouldn't use HTML 5.0 just because of the "fancy" elements like <header> and <footer>, which I must say don't make much sence to me. I like the idea of XHTML 2.0's <nl>, which I'm not sure if HTML 5.0 has copied. One has to wonder why <nl> after <menu> though. And why was <menu> deprecated?

Well... you don't have to learn them, because they're not a new beginning. Just the additional tags (I don't use the XHTML 1.0 at its full value, and I'd rather learn CSS3, than wasting my time on some (X)HTML tags)
