Maximum characters for title, meta description/keywords

I have read that you should have a maximum of- 64 characters for title tag- 156 for description tag- 200 for keywordsincluding spaces. Why is this?Son

I don't think the W3C specification mentions a maximum of characters for the title elementhttp://www.w3.org/TR/html4/struct/global.html#h-7.4.2About description and keywords, that's not defined by the W3C, it's decided by search engines. There's no character limit, however, some search engines might choose to only read a certain amount of your description.
